Good, better and for the best supposedly !!

Best is not best anymore
Likes have turned as dislikes
Dislikes are being tolerated
Ambitions compromised
Achievements ceased to exist

Cotton becomes silk
Bike becomes a car
All your clothes are branded
Food becomes a palette

But mind wanders
Refuses to be bribed
Digs up the old dreams
And remains untamed

Do you refuse to give in
Or refuse to give up
It hurts either way
But what costs more??

Swift Sundays!

I open my eyes slowly unwillingly
Woken up by the loud chatter of life
I look at the clock, eight in the morning
Sunday!

I move out of the bed
Squinting at the bright summer light
Sweating in the July heat of Chennai
No power!

I make a Tang Orange to drink
Pick up Joseph Levland
Rummaging through Gandi
Power oN!

I start flipping through channels
Switch my laptop on for music
Wash my clothes in the chaos
One o Clock!

My stomach growls with hunger
I appease it with a concoction of caffeine
I read thirty pages in the Microeconomics book
I close it with a thud! Boring

I call a few friends on the phone
We conference for an hour
Movies and shopping done on Saturday
We decide to laze at home switching a new movie on

The sun goes down late
I pick my cycle; An hour goes by
Racing through the lanes
Time to head home before I fall flat

Hunger hits hard! Hearty dinner required
I make some cheesy pasta
Check my mails
Ten thirty

I think about Monday's work
I cannot sleep
I try writing something new for my blog
12 o clock- Monday!

My Best Friend!

I sat in the corner of Class 12
Just before the last row
An rider written on the board
I looked out of the window, clearly bored

Bird chirping in the tree near me
I wonder about the day
Seven more hours to go
I am tempted to call sick and leave

Suddenly I hear a voice behind me
Enquiring my name
I keep looking out
Pretending to be on my own

The bell goes at ten past nine
I close my note, curiosity won
Turning around I look at you
Just to see you looking straight at me

I hardly react
You say 'hi' and shook my hand
I say 'hello', I don't even smile,
I turn back, opening my notebook again

Two days go by
You speak to everyone meanwhile
I change my place to sit behind you
Thinking I should say 'hello' again

Everyday then, you turn back to say 'hi'
Donno why I could nt talk back to you
But I smiled back this time
And I realise, a month had gone by

Knowing it was your birthday tomorrow
On my way back home
I stopped and roamed inside a gift shop
Wondering what to buy

Next day morning,
Relentless, you greet me with your usual 'hi'
I wish you happy birthday
And hand you the card

You smile at me for the first time
Clearly surprised, with pure delight
I was the only one who remembered
And that's how we became best friends, and still remain.

Connecting People

Standstill, I look to my right
Subtle Romance
Handsome guy, beautiful girl
Shining with the circle of trust
I smile - 'Youth'

Standstill, I look left
He embodies 'Atlas'
Worry lines creasing his forehead, He shruggs
But He has not given up yet
I feel - 'Family'

I move now, only to be stopped again
By the kid waving at me,
Making faces at me
Wanting me to play with her
I wave back - 'Innocence'

Standstill again,
My feet turns numb,
My eyes hurt,
I want to move on,
I can't - 'Still Red'

Helpless, I start singing
"A little less conversation, little more action"
Minutes pass by
I look around
I'd brought a smile to everyone around - 'Green'.

A/S/L

I was from Mars
You were from Venus
Met you in earth
In a dilapidated corner of cyberspace

Your intriguing gaze pearced me
My heart was in havoc
I felt alive
And you felt real.

You had the most expressive eyes
Your gaze held mine
I didn't blink in fear-
Fear of losing you

We moved like the wind
Dusk closing, sky drizzling, breeze kissing
Bodies sandwitched
Minds married

Moments lasted
Your soul was mine And mine yours
Alas! I blinked
Not once, but twice

I was still in earth
Sweat dripping, Eyes blinded by the bright light
Perched on a chair and my head on the table

I finally focused on e=mc^2
Dawn approaching, I sat up straight
i was 17, And I had the most sweetest dream,
Eversince, I go to sleep every night, wishing!!

The Road Not Taken...

One Sunday morning I-
Built my first invention
Eureka! It was a beautiful
My dream come true.

Everyday then, I walked
Head held high; Back ramrod straight
Basking n the glory,
Heart swelled with Pride

Dawn & Dusk passed by
Saw my friends chase-
Chased the scores I ignored
And I drew new designs

I built more & more
Dreams upon Dreams
Never did I know
It had a fateful end

End came swiftly one day
Because, when two roads diverged in the woods
I took the one less lonely
And that has made all the difference.
